Delhi Airport Terminal 1

Terminal 1 at Delhi Airport is used as a domestic terminal, since it is only served by low cost carriers.

Terminal 1 is currently used by low cost carriers. DIAL is working to expand Terminal 1 and enhance its annual passenger handling capacity from the current 18 million to 30 million within four years by 2022. 

Terminal 1 at IGI Airport was in fact part of Palam Airport. Since the addition of the other terminals at the facility, the Airport changed its name to Indira Gandhi International Airport. 

Present & future

Terminal 1 will be expanded to be able to handle 40 million passengers by 2022. 


Terminal 1 is formed by several buildings for both Arrivals and Departures: T1C and T1D. 

Arrivals T1C 

This building handles arrivals flights. Passengers will also find access to transportation, among others. 

Departures T1D 

Passengers will find check-in area, security checkpoints, and access to gates. 

Transfer between TerminalS

There is an inter terminal shuttle bus free of use that connect both terminals. Frequency every 20 minutes between T1 and T3. Shuttle bus is operated by DIAL. 

At Terminal 1, passengers can find complimentary golf carts to move around.
